Vintage

Kilims are flat-weave rugs. A Kilim (flat-weave) is any rug that is constructed without including any knots at all. Instead, the parallel running fibers that comprise the length of the rug (warp) and those that run along the width (weft) make up the whole surface of the rug. Rumi's Vintage kilims are from villagers in Aqcha city of Jawizjan province in norther Afghanistan. These vintage kilims are decades old and yet, they are vibrant as ever. Vintage Kilims are hand collected during my monthly trips to the villages. Like all kilims, they are one of a kind with stories of vibrancy, color, and longevity.
