Rugs
Rugs are textile that is handmade on a loom using the knotting technique. The technique of knotting involves creating horizontal rows of small knots usually looped around two warp threads, alternating with one or more lines of weft. After each knot, the yarn is cut to produce the "fleece," which is the pile of the rug. To create decorations, stands of different colors are used, following a procedure in which each knot is used like a tile in the mosaic. Rumi's rugs are made in Jawizjan, Faryab, Balkh and Sar-e Pul provinces in northern Afghanistan. All Rumi rugs are 100 percent Ghazni wool, hand spun, hand knotted and natural dye.
